The department of Information Technologies & Services (ITS) has now completed the compatibility testing for Snow Leopard and supported applications for Mac. We have certified Snow Leopard for most of the applications and is now fully supported by ITS.
Please be advised that ITS will not provide support for applications such as iLife and iTunes. ITS can guide users through basic setup and use of these applications as well as recommend other resources for a more in-depth guide or 'how-to.' In addition, users will need the operating system media (i.e. installation DVD) to install applications such as Quicktime version 7.
To purchase a license for Snow Leopard, please contact the ITS Computer Sales group at csg@med.cornell.edu.
Applications now compatible with Snow Leopard
- An updated version of the Remote Desktop Connection client (version 2.0.1) is now available on the ITS Mac OS X Application downloads page.
- For Power PC applications such as Oracle Calendar or SciFinder Scholar, Snow Leopard will automatically install Rosetta even if it not selected during the upgrade process.
- File Maker Pro does have known issues but has a workaround.
Applications not recommended for running on Snow Leopard but appear to function normally
For these applications, ITS will provide basic support. For Eclipsys and NYP ITA, ITS will provide connectivity support for WCMC users on ITS-supported machines. For issues once logged onto Eclipsys, please contact the NewYork-Presbyterian Help Desk at 4-HELP.
