Graviton (Franklin Hall) is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Sal Buscema, he first appeared in Avengers #158, dated April 1977. Over the years he has mainly opposed the Avengers in their various incarnations.

The GRAV® Medium Gravitron® is the smaller edition of GRAV's namesake and flagship product, and it's still as much fun and as hard-hitting as it was back in 2004 when it was invented. To use the Medium Gravitron, start by filling the outer base with about 8' of water, which should hit just below the decal.

Hi,

Gravitron (zener) Mac OS

I want to upgrade my iMac from a HDD to an SSD for a speed boost. I have done the same with Windows HDDs to SSDs without any problems.

However, I am completely unfamiliar with the unique internals of an iMac. I have an excellent online step by step of what to do with the hardware, but once I have the existing HDD in hand, what best to do with it?

Ideally, I would be able to use a Windows machine, and plug in the Mac HDD and the blank SSD as second and third SATA discs, and coordinate the cloning of the Mac HDD onto the new SSD on the Windows machine. Would this work?

Otherwise, what are my options, since I do nto think my iMac has an eSATA port etc?

Many thanks, Fmrte 2018 cracked.

Damien, this forum is mainly focussed on the Windows version of ATIH 2017 so most users here, myself included, do not have any experience of Mac hardware or actions.

The key question with regards to cloning a Mac HDD is to ask how is the drive formatted as this may determine what you can do with it if you are going to try to do this on your Windows computer?

From the ATIH 2017 User Guide:

Supported file systems

  • FAT16/32
  • NTFS
  • Ext2/Ext3/Ext4 *
  • ReiserFS *

Note: ReiserFS partitions and disks cannot be backed up to Acronis Cloud.

  • Linux SWAP *

* The Ext2/Ext3/Ext4, ReiserFS, and Linux SWAP file systems are supported only for disk or partition backup/recovery operations. You cannot use Acronis True Image 2017 for file-level operations with these file systems (file backup, recovery, search, as well as image mounting and file recovering from images). You also cannot perform backups to disks or partitions with these file systems.

If a file system is not supported or is corrupted, Acronis True Image 2017 can copy data using a sector-by-sector approach. https://book-soft.mystrikingly.com/blog/time-stream-randomstuff04-mac-os.

------------------

So, if your Mac HDD uses formatting that is not supported, you would be likely to be forced into using sector-by-sector mode for either clone or backup/restore, which in turn may be a problem if you are moving from a larger HDD to a smaller SSD drive, as sector-by-sector will copy the whole source drive including unused sectors!

From the ATIH 2017 for Mac User Guide:

Gravitron (zener) Mac Os Catalina

  • Mac OS Extended format (case-insensitive)
  • FAT32
  • exFAT
  • NTFS (read-only)

The above shows the difference in file systems that you are dealing with here.
